Teaching Frog Ted new things - 2

Hi Everyone, it's me, Frog!
My new little friend Frog Ted is learning about how to be a GOOD FRIEND and how to help children write good stories. I am telling him everything I know!

Obi-Sven has been teaching him as well. Obi-Sven is VERY clever and wise and knows all kinds of things - even SECRET things, like looking for pichards in the nooks and grannys, er.... I mean crannies. (hehe)
But children, did you know that having a rest sometimes is just as important as being busy?

If you are tired (and maybe grumpy!) then it is hard for your brain to work properly, and for you to remember new things.

Sometimes when you are very tired, all you want to do is lie down and have a snooze, and you don't want to think about what you have to do next.

So you can't learn all your new sums and writing if you are yawning your head off.

What if you yawned so much your head really DID fall off???? (That might make quite a good story, actually - go and put it in your rough book for later!)

So, because we don't want Frog Ted to get into BAD HABITS like going to bed too late and getting too tired to think properly, Obi-Sven is showing him how to get to sleep really quickly and have a good night's sleep.

To get to sleep quickly at bedtimes, it's good to do the same thing every night.

That way, your brain gets to know it's going to be time to go to sleep, so it helps you to get your ZZZZZ's more easily.
Having a bedtime story is a GREAT.
Get tucked in!

ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.......
Thanks, Obi-Sven, wake up, you can go back to your desk now!
Love, Frog X

That is sooo true! I sometimes get grumpy if I'm awake too long. That's when Mum tells me it's time for a nap.

And we have the same routine for bedtime nearly every night. And it's always important to turn around three times before lying down, at least if you're a dog! Woofs, Johann

It's been waaaaaaaay too long since I've been over to give Frog the Dog a pat on the head. For my reward, I learned something about the art of sleeping...that if you follow the same routine every night, your body will know it's time to sleep. THAT is a lesson worth learning.

My kitty Mao already knows all of this, and right at this moment, she is sound asleep with her head resting on my foot. This is after she insisted I wake up this morning (By standing on my chest and purring loudly). Now that she knows I'm still alive, she can go back to sleep easily. Isn't that thoughtful of her?

I just took some pictures of her slumber for your edification and will mail them shortly. :-)

Hi Everyone!
Seems like sleeping is something EVERYONE enjoys!!
Us dogs are QUITE good at snoozing, but I do think that cats are THE BEST. They are SO relaxed!
I think Obi-Sven has been teaching Jelly some secret cat exercises that help them sleep in strange and uncomfortbale looking places.
Maybe we need a whole post all about this!
Mao the cat was really looking VERY comfortable in her photos, thank you Lisa!
Watch this blog for more ways to enjoy sleeping, and how to get to sleep easily.....yawn.....
