When is YOUR Hippo Bathday?

Hi Everyone, it's me, Frog!
Here at my beach house, the fun just NEVER stops!
We might be over-excited about our new book arriving from the printers, but today we have thinking about something else.
Today we have thinking about Hippo Bathdays!
We LOVE Hippo Bathdays, and we love sending cards to our friends.
Today I have been helping to make some REAL birthday cards.
Did you know children, that when artists need to know what something looks like, they either find a picture of it or they go and find the real thing and draw a pic of that.
So GUESS WHO had to have an EXTRA BATH with a hippo today, just so our author could draw this pic??
Of course, in our real bathroom there was MUCH more water on the floor than there is in this pic, because hippos do splash QUITE ALOT.
When an artist draws the pic a bit different to how it REALLY is, it's called "artistic licence." It means they made it up!
So, if YOU like Hippo Bathdays, and want to get a card from me, just send me your name, your birthday and your snail mail address, and I will put your birthday in my doggish diary and send you a card on your next Hippo Bathday. How FROGTASTIC IS THAT??

All aboard the TeamFrogTour bus!

Hi Everyone, it's me, Frog!

My Author and I do a lot of driving.
I often to offer to do the driving so Helen can catch up on her reading, but she doesn't think this is a good idea.
Apparently, she get car sick if she tries to read in the car.

So we usually look like more like this!
We have a great time driving about in the little car.
We LOVE our little car.
We were very proud when it passed it's MOT test this week, because Little Car is getting QUITE OLD.
We have lots of different names for Little Car.
Sometimes we call it "The pinky Cinqui" even though it is really red.
It doesn't mind a bit.

Sometimes we call it The TeamFrog Tour Bus, because we are TeamFrog, and we tour the countryside in it. It isn't a bus though, so we never stop at bus stops, even if people stick their hand out and look hopeful.

So when we wanted to take our photo in the TeamFrog Tour Bus to put on the wagsite, we asked My Author's Husband to get the camera.
"We want a photo of the TeamFrogtour Bus!" we said, and jumped up and down in that excited way.

MAH looked puzzled. "The TeamFrog Tour Bus??" I think his hearing is not as good as it was, he often repeats things like that when I ask him something, as if he can't QUITE believe his ears.

"Yep, yep yep!!" I bounced, pretending to be like Ginger Jelly
MAH sighed a big sigh. "WHAT is the TeamFrog Tour Bus??"
Sometimes grown ups just don't know what's going on, do they?
"The little CAR of course!" I explained patiently, "We want a photo of us in The Little Car!"
Really, did he think we had a coach parked outside?? Grown ups.....

But you know, having a big super duper coach to take Frog the Dog on tour would be a great idea, we would have room for everything and everyone!
So after we had our photos taken for posterity (whoever SHE is) we went to the drawing board and created the TeamFrog Tour Bus!

Everyone is welcome - on the TeamFrog Tour Bus there is no slobbering, (CLAWS) no spitting (DAFTS and no looking at anyone like they might make a nice lunch. (GLIDERS - more about that later!)

Who wants to ride with us??

Love, Frog X

FrogBlogDogLog!!!!: Are you D.A.F.T.S.??

Are you DAFTS or CLAWS??

Hi Everyone, it's me, Obi-Sven, and him, Ginger Jelly,
Ever since Frog blogged about his DAFTS club, we have been trying to squeeze in to give all you cool cats a chance to have YOUR say.
And I really do think it is time to say something!
I quite agree with Frog that is it VERY rude to spit, and I NEVER spit at Frog (that is why he was so surprised when that other cat did), but I AM a bit tired of DOGS WHO SLOBBER!
I might be trying to have a nice drink of water from Frog's bowl, and there is slobber on it - ugh!
I might be sneaking up on that careless ham sandwich and then Frog gets all excited and slobbers on my back leg!
It's REALLY RIDICULOUS!
So I have made up my own club, for cats who are tired of being slobbered on.
It's called Cats Loathe All Who Slobber - or CLAWS.
Never mind about being DAFTS, get CLAWS! To prove you've got CLAWS, get your CLAWS! certificate here!

At the Beach House we are friends with everyone, not just dogs.
When our author goes into schools, she asks children:
"Who has got a dog?" Lots of hands always go up
"Who has got a cat?" Lots of other hands go up
"Who has got a dog AND a cat?" A few hands go up.
"Who has got rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, birds, llamas..." Usually when she says "Llamas" everyone says "LLAMAS???" and laughs, but at one school she went to, a little lad put his hand up and said he had LOTS of llamas because his parents owned a petting zoo!
Yes, boys and girls, that little lad was a LLama farmer.
So, you do not HAVE to be a dog or a cat to have fun at the beach house, or to join in our clubs. You can be whoever you are and have fun by getting your CLAWS or DAFTS certificate from the wagsite.
We'd be REALLY happy if you sent us your photo to put in our DAFTS and CLAWS Gallery, like our friend Spencer did. But don't worry, YOU don't have to have three tennis balls in your mouth at once to get your photo in the gallery!
Just email your photo with your name, and whether you are DAFTS or CLAWS, to me at obi-sven@frogthedog.com and we'll put you in!
I have to go now, my whiskers need washing again,
Love, Obi-Sven XX

Waiting for some magic to happen!

Excuse me, everyone, I'm just waiting for some magic to make this picture move!
Frog X
*a little while later*
WooooHooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
It works!!!! How Frogtastic is THAT?? How jellynormously magical?? How obi-sven-kenifferously cool!!
You see boys and girls, magic DOES happen. Magic can happen anywhere, to anyone, even on a blog. Magic cannot always happen on its own, sometimes it needs a bit of help - or even a LOT of help!
But for magic to happen you only need friendship, and our good friend Rythmduel has made this magic happen for us, which is very clever of him, because this is not a small thing that has brightened our day, it is a BIG thing that has brightened our Blog!
I am SO excited I think I need a sausage sandwich to keep my strength up!

My first Sunflower!

Hi Everyone it's me, Frog, Keeper of sunflowers!
On Sunday it was a VERY RAINY DAY.
Some people had so much rain that their houses and towns were flooded!

But we were very lucky because when we went into the garden on Sunday morning after the rain had stopped, we found that our very first sunflower was open. It made us smile!
Like our good friends Rythmnduel and Canela at 5Impulses say, it's the small things that brighten the day.

After I had checked everything in the garden was rosy (it isn't really rosy in our garden because we have no roses, but it is one of those strange things that grown ups say), I popped my paws on my PC, and found something in my inbox that brightened my day again - a frogtastic photo of my friend Canela helping her dear friend Itziar to have fun on her birthday: Now that REALLY brightened my day! I LOVE seeing happy children, and I LOVE birthdays, so this made my day even brighter than a very bright thing.
What brightened YOUR day today?
Love, Frog X

Wearing my publisher's hat!

Hi Everyone, it's me, Bimmy!
Today, boys and girls, I have been wearing my publisher's hat. You know it's true because here is the pic of me IN my pulisher's hat. No-one else could blog today because I was so busy on the computer ALL DAY.
Frog wanted to blog about how he has put all his shiny new pins in a box with a tight lid so they are safe and can't hurt small paws. He had his "I'm being a tidy sheepdog" hat on - what do you suppose that looks like??
Obi-Sven wanted to blog about the CLAWS certificates and the DAFTS and CLAWS Gallery, so that any cat readers would know that we don't just like dogs at the beach house, but she started reading a good book about fish, so she had her "Please be quiet, I'm reading a good book about fish," hat on.
How do you suppose THAT looks??

Ginger Jelly was much too busy sticking himself to Frog's stickers to worry about blogging, so he had his "please don't tell me to stop sticking to these stickers" hat on. IS there a hat like that??
So here I am, in my publisher's hat, sorting out some of our lovely new things that we are getting ready for schools when they go back after the long summer holidays.
I had to make lots of list and tell everyone all the information about our Froggy Doggy Bags. Now most doggy bags have bits of left over food indside them and you might think that knowing Frog, there might be some food in these bags as well, but there isn't, and not just because Frog never has any left over food!

Our bags are full of Frog books and CDs and stickers and other interesting stuff!

One of my jobs today was to make a list of all the things that will be in each bag, and how many different bags we are going to have, and what the bags will be called. Then I had to make a label for each bag so that everyone will know (including me!) what's inside them.
It was good fun choosing the names for the bags! When I made the labels, I chose a character that was bit like the name of the bag. Here they are:
This is Obi-Sven on the label of
"The Cat's Whiskers!" Deluxe School Resource Bag which includes:
Frog the Dog Tote bag
CDRom - It's Stickinormous Too!
Storybook - It's Stickinormous!
Audio CD - It's Frogtastic!
Activity book - photo-copiable for schools
Frog soft toy
Frogtastic Reward Stickers x 200

Here I am without my publisher's hat, on
"The Stickilicious Special!" School Resource Bag which includes:
Frog the Dog Tote Bag
CDRom - It's Stickinormous Too!
Storybook - It's Stickinormous!
Activity Book - photocopiable for schools
Frogtastic reward Stickers x 150

Jelly is going to be stuck on the label for
"The Jellynormous!" School Resource Bag which includes
Frog theDog Tote Bag
CDRom - It's Stickinormous Too!
Storybook - It's Stickinormous!
Frog soft toy
Frogtastic Reward Stickers x 100

Frog the Favourite is, of course, on "The FROGTASTIC!" Home Bag which includes
Frog the Dog Tote Bag
Storybook - It's Stickinormous!
Audio CD - It's Frogtastic!
Frog soft toy
Frogtastic Stickers x 50

Who is this ??
It's McAndy! He isn't in any of the books, but he IS on the wagsite, and he has a Frog fun Size story about him, called The Perfect Present (you can hear it on the wagsite!)
His Mum is going to be VERY proud when she finds out that he is on "The Youchers Grouchers!" Home Bag, which includes
Frog the Dog Tote Bag
Storybook - It's Stickinormous!
Audio CD - It's Frogtastic!
Frogtastic Stickers x 50

Would you like to see what the rest of the bag looks like?
Of COURSE you do. Here's a pic that I got ready for you earlier, because I KNEW you would want to know what the Froggy Doggy Baggy would look like:
That IS frogtastic, isn't it?

So, boys and girls, now you know why the others were not blogging today and you know all about publisher's hats. What else would you like to know??

Frogtastic Stickers - FROGTASTIC FUN!!

Hi Everyone, it's me, Stick-tastic Frog!

Today I am mostly modelling my new stickers - aren't they FROGTASTIC??

You can use them to have fun, like my friends are, or you can use them to tell the children in your class that they have done frogtastic work.

This is only a good idea if you are a teacher, because if you are NOT a teacher, and you tell the children in your class they have done good work, they might say things like "Who do you think YOU are?? You're NOT the teacher!"

Or if they are very polite children, or they are your friends they might say "Cripes, thank you very much - that's a frogtastic thing to do!"

The good thing about my frogtastic stickers is that they stick, so you don't have to use pins. You can just peel them off and on they stick! If you feel like sticking with stickers, you can wobble your whiskers along to the frogshop and buy a pack or two. How FROGTASTIC is that??
Love, Frog X
PS: Ok, so the sticker on my nose was put on with smoke and mirrors but the rest were STUCK ON - is there anything these authors WON'T DO to get a good photo??

When it rains cats and dogs....2

Hi Everyone, it's me, Obi-Sven!

The other day, I asked you all if you could tell me, when it rains cats and dogs, do you get very wet, or do you get furballs?

Frog's friend Hannah says you get furballs; but she asked what happens when it rains bucket loads, so our author drew a picture of it.

That's REALLY RIDICULOUS

What do YOU think?

How does my garden grow??

Hi Everyone, it's me, green paws Frog!
It's been SO exciting with the new wagsite and everything that I haven't had the chance to tell you how my garden is growing.
Look at my sunflowers! That one on the end is TALLER than my author! (no, she isn't a very short person), it must be about six feet tall.
Do you know, some snails STILL climb to the top every night to have a look around. We know they've been because they leave their silvery trail on the very top leaves.
Snails - we know what you do!

And here are my runner beans. They wanted to be storybook runner beans and grow themselves a giant, but we asked them not to. There just isn't room in the greenhouse for a giant as well.
The runner beans have moved about alot.
Not by themselves (hehe).
We planted them in a trough in the garden, and the very first night those silvery trailed snails came and muncherama-ed all over them, until one plant was completely gone, and the others looked a bit sad.

So we dug them up again and put them in the greenhouse, in the ground, and now they are as happy as happy, because not many snails can get into the greenhouse. Maybe because all the giants have taken up all the room :)

Just to remind you, this is how my sunflowers looked on the 10th May - I bet YOU haven't grown that much in two months!

And this is how my runner beans look on the 10th May before the snails had a picnic and asked all their friends around.

Boys and girls, how many biscuits does it take to get a celebrity dog's photo?

When it rains cats and dogs....

Hi Everyone, it's me, Obi-Sven-Kenobi!
At last! Frog the "always hogging the computer" Dog is just away from his desk practising his pawtograph, so I've sneaked on to ask you something I have been wondering about for some time.

Here is our author dressed in her Storytellers clothes.
In this picture she looks quite dry, but on Saturday when she dressed up for our town carnival she got wet. She got VERT WET INDEED!

She didn't get wet because someone threw a bucket of water over her.
(That happens to me sometimes when I'm singing in the middle of the night - tsk tsk)
She got wet because it was raining.
It was raining ALOT.
It was raining before she went.
It rained ALL DAY, but she still went out and pranced around the streets, in front of people who were standing under umbrellas watching everyone prancing about in the rain.
Grown ups - what can you do with them?

When she got back home , and her Storytellers outfit was dripping on the floor, she claimed it had been raining cats and dogs.

Can this be true?

Tell me boys and girls, if it was REALLY raining cats and dogs, would she have got wet, or would she be covered in furballs?

Love, Obi-Sven X
