Alphabetti Frogetti! Part 2

Hi Everyone, it's me, Alphabetti Frogetti again!

Last time we talked about knowing the alphabet SO WELL you didn't have to think about it, you just know where all the letters go in the right order.

Now we’ll help you to Alphabetti Frogetti authors with names that begin with the same letter like Dodd, Donaldson and Dahl – youchers!!

If you have got a shelf full of books whose authors names all start with the same letter, where do you find the one you want?

Let's try to find Roald Dahl.

You know the first letter is D so you go to the D shelf.

Then you think of the second letter in Dahl, which is "a", so it will be near the top because "a" is the very first letter of the alphabet. If you find more than one author whose name starts with Da, then think of the third letter, which is "h", then you should find Dahl quite easily.

Who comes first, Mr Dodd or Ms Donaldson?

Mr Dodd! Because first you look at the D

Then you look at the "o"

Then you look at the third letter - the third letter in Dodd is "d"

- the third letter in Donaldson is "n"

and "d" comes before "n" so Dodd is first.

Do you see?

Can you put Dodd, Dahl and Donaldson in the right order on the shelf now?

If you can, you are Alphabetti Frogetti!

Frogtastic!

Love, Frog X PS:

You might be wondering where we were last week, and you might be wondering who the lovely hedgehog is, so I'll tell you :-

Last week we were thinking very hard about some new characters and new stories.

We'd like you to meet Harris, who is an expert on worms. He knows what 100 worms looks like, and which one is which and all their names! Sometimes he feels a bit prickly; sometimes he rolls into a ball and S C R E A M S !! He likes to wear his pyjamas wherever he goes and he knows all about WORMS.

He is Harris the Hedgehog and he is prickletastic!
